Managed Back-Up Add-On
What is it?
Our Managed Back-Up Add-On provides customers with the ability to have their systems backed up to WebCentral's secure, fully managed back-up tape infrastructure.

With managed back-ups, data stored on your 10 Second Server is backed up according to a rigorous procedure, thus minimising data loss in the unlikely event of server failure. It will give you peace of mind that the latest backed up version of your data may be quickly recovered in the event of an emergency.


How are the managed back-ups performed?
The procedure for managed back-ups of 10 Second Servers is based on an 18-tape cycle whereby customer data is backed up every day via our hosting network utilising the following methodology:
Incremental back-ups are performed daily for 6 days, and full back-ups are performed each week on the 7th day.
At the end of each week, the full back-up customer data tapes are then routinely rotated off-site using a secure third party tape storage service.
Monthly back-ups of all weekly tapes are then performed, and again rotated off-site.

How are restorations performed?
In the event of server hardware failure, all 10 Second Server customers (whether they are managed back-up customers or not) will be re-provisioned with new hardware from existing pre-provisioned stock.

Thereafter, only customers subscribing to 10 Second Server's Managed Back-Up Add-On will then also have all their backed up data restored into a single directory on their newly provisioned hard disk. Restoration of customer data will be performed as soon as possible but only within business hours.


PLEASE NOTE:
Due to rapidly changing hardware specifications, the Managed Back-Up Add-On product does NOT provide full image restore processes. Customers are required to reconfigure their applications and restore data to their appropriate directories in the event of hardware failure and back-up restore.

How do I sign up?
To enable the Managed Back-Up Add-On on your 10 Second Server, please log a job in Mission Control providing details of the back-up size option you require. Customer requests for the Managed Back-Up Add-On will be processed by the Technical Support Team as soon as possible within business hours.

PLEASE NOTE:
Provisioning the Managed Back-Up Add-On requires the installation of software back-up agents on the customer's machine. Depending on your 10 Second Server's operating system specifications, you may be required to liaise with our Technical Support Team through the Online Job System during this provisioning process.

Notes
1. Auto debit payment from major credit cards is the only accepted payment option for 10 Second Server Add-On Products and will be charged in accordance with your current payment method.
2. Business hours are defined as Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm AEST.
3. WebCentral gives no warranty that back-ups will be complete and/or accurate.
4. The speed at which data restoration of backed up files is performed is dependant on server configuration and load, thus no guarantees are offered with this service.
5. Customers must ensure that all files are accessible, not locked or in use, during back-up. While every effort is taken, data back-up of locked files is not guaranteed. Back-up generally occurs daily between 1600 and 0800 AEST the following day.
6. Back-up of operating system files form part of the size allocations for each Managed Back-Up option. Customers are required to stay within the data amounts specified for their Managed Back-Up Add-On. WebCentral will generally monitor size allocations and notify customers if their back-up limit has been reached, however, the onus is on the customer to ensure limits are not exceeded. Back-ups may not be undertaken if the data limits are exceeded.
7. Any restoration requests that are not the result of server hardware failure will incur an additional fee.
8. Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.
